How soft-washing works

Soft washing uses specialized cleaning chemicals rather than high-pressure water to clean exterior surfaces. It is the preferred method for delicate materials like roof shingles, vinyl siding, and wood decks.

Traditional high-pressure washing can blast away surface dirt, but it often leaves the living roots of mold and algae behind, causing it to return quickly. Soft washing eliminates the spores entirely at the source

Soft washing relies entirely on a chemical mixture to do the heavy lifting.

  1. The Mix: A mixture of water, a surfactant, and sodium hypochlorite is created.

  2. The Application: The solution is gently sprayed onto the surface using low-pressure pumps, much like using a garden hose.

  3. The Dwell Time: The soap makes the solution stick to the surface. It is left to sit for 5 to 10 minutes to kill mold, algae, and bacteria at the root.

  4. The Rinse: The dead organic matter and grime are rinsed away using a high-volume, low-pressure stream of fresh water
